Covid-19 has really put a stop to travelling - especially for me. Which is why I think the next best thing is staycation. Albeit a little weird for me as I don't do much staycation, but Hyatt House seems like a pretty decent place located in the heart of Mont Kiara.
If anything, it's really convenient.
My amazing view outside my stay at Hyatt House.
The fairly grand and beautiful lobby of Hyatt House. Everything was really clean and well-maintained. Spotless - probably due to the lower occupancy rate, but regardless, it was nice to see hotels like these keep up their standards of cleanliness.
Really cute looking key-card upon checking in.
This is the most basic room available and I would have to say that it's more than enough. It's incredibly spacious with the Super-King bed by Sealy (which I personally love), a sofa on the side with a console table, and a working desk as well.
Personally, I think that the room's vibe was just about right. It may not have the most 'resort-ish' feeling, but as a staycation room, it's more than sufficient. Everything was clean and organised. Props to the house-keeping team.
The bathroom comes with the giant mirror that lit on both side, making it incredibly bright. More than enough to do your make-up and what not. However, what I love most about the bathroom is the hot shower.
High pressure wash with both rainwater shower-head as well regular shower-head. Water was really hot as well, which makes showering a fantastic feeling. Loved the bathroom.
The room itself also comes with a small pantry - well not exactly a pantry but a space for you to prep simple meals. There's also a microwave in each room which is really useful for those on a long-term stay. TV was fairly huge as well and it does offer a wide variety of channels.
*The 2 photos above are the Private Sky Terrace.
For the Private Sky Terrace, Hyatt House provides you all the utensils you'll need for a BBQ at only RM388+ for 4 hours. All you'll have to bring are food, drinks and of course, company. So if you're looking to party privately, this may be a place that you'd consider.
*As CMCO rules may change in the future, their maximum capacity as of writing this is 5 pax.*
You can even rent out the entire Private Sky Terrace for a night - where it comes with 2 rooms with King-sized beds and a couch - much like your very own holiday home. I would say that it does give out that Sydney-Gold Coast vibes.
If you're not into exercising, then you might enjoy the entertainment room they've provided. Equipped with a pool table, foosball and PS4!
So far during my stay, there weren't anyone occupying the place - but it is available for any hotel guests.
During this Covid period, all hotel buffets are temporarily halted. However, one can enjoy their breakfast at the comfort of their own room. You'll have to go to the dining area and choose what you'd like and they'll pack everything for you.
Here we have some of what they offered - mostly bread, various types of eggs, hash-browns, sausages, baked beans, fruits and salad. Coffee, tea and juices are also available as well.
There's also cereals and many more.
Hyatt House is also more than just a hotel as it mainly provides long-term stays for ex-pats. I guess it really does make more sense as the prices start from roughly RM6,000++ monthly. Good thing is, it comes with everything you'll need to live comfortably.
A mini-sized kitchen, dining table, couch area, TV, wifi, plates, bowls and even stuff you could borrow such as rice cooker from their list of rentals, all at no added cost. More expensive units also include a washing machine, as well as dishwasher.
Here is the next size up. This unit if I'm not mistaken, is roughly 500+ sq ft. It's a comfortable size even for me, but prices may go as high as RM8k++. Housekeeping is done 3 times per week should you just to stay the month or more. As you can see, it's a fully equipped kitchenette.
This unit here comes with a terrace area right outside. A great place to hangout and relax, should you ever require such a huge space. It also comes with 2 rooms and 2 shower. Bathtub is included as well, along with washing machine, dishwasher, and a microwave.
So for those who are looking for a staycation - or even a long term weekly/monthly stay in the heart of KL, Hyatt House at Mont Kiara is a great option.
It's walking distance to 163 Retail Park, which has plenty of restaurants around, or right at Acoris where there are bars and restaurant as well. Going to central KL would take no more than 20 minutes by car.
For those worried about the current Covid situation, I do believe within the context of staycation - Hyatt House is really maintaining their standards of cleanliness.
"Hyatt House Kuala Lumpur, Mont’Kiara has announced that it has achieved Global Biorisk Advisory Council®️ (GBAC) STAR™️ accreditation, the gold standard for prepared facilities. Under the guidance of GBAC, a Division of ISSA, the worldwide cleaning industry association, Hyatt House Kuala Lumpur, Mont’Kiara has implemented the most stringent protocols for cleaning, disinfection and infectious disease prevention in its facilities."
So no worries there, stay safe and enjoy what's left of 2020!
